The National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week is usually celebrated during the first week of November. Today marks the last day and the KSPCA would like to say ‘Thank you’ to all of you who support us in one way or the other.
This is a week that recognizes animal shelters that provide care for many abandoned and stray animals. It is also dedicated to the people who provide the labor force, most of which are volunteers, who support the efforts of the shelters and keep pets healthy. Shelters are involved is matters such as spay/neuter campaigns, advocating for humane slaughter of animals, investigating cruelty and neglect, reuniting lost pets with their families, educating the public on how best to care for animals/pets and so much more.
Apart from being a safe place for animals, an Animal shelter is a great place to get to adopt a pet and make them a part of you home. National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week is a perfect opportunity for you, and those close to you, to learn more about animal shelters and generally how they operate.
Would you like to support the KSPCA? We would greatly appreciate it. You could give a donation, become a member, see what supplies are desperately needed and help provide, volunteer, help spread news about being a responsible pet owner, adopt an animal from us or even like and follow us on our social media platforms!
