March was a quiet month in Naivasha, as Raphael was on leave, but John and Flora did a great job of keeping everything running smoothly.

Rescues and Investigations.

We rescued  a donkey that had been hacked by unknown people at the Kamere area. Due to the extent of the injuries, the donkey had to be humanely put to sleep.

Raphael also came across the donkey below at Soi. The donkey had bad wounds which were brought about by the cart, and was lacking veterinary care.

Our team went to inspect the ARN kennels. The dogs were skinny and the kennels are bare concrete floors. The dogs seem to be confined too much, and we have advised them regarding better care of the dogs and their dietary needs, as well as veterinary care and general hygiene.

Re-homing follow-ups

The dogs below were rehomed at Gilgil, Kayole and Lakeview Estate. They are all in good condition and enjoying their new homes.

In other news…

In March, we re-homed 4 dogs and 1 cat. We also admitted 17 dogs, 9 cats and 5 donkeys. We are currently providing shelter to 37 dogs, 9 cats and 6 donkeys.

Our vehicle has completely died, which is making field work extremely difficult and restricted.

Dr. Cecilia came to help with spaying and neutering of 15 dogs and 4 cats.
