International Homeless Animals’ Day falls on every third Saturday in August. This day focuses on the pet overpopulation problem and how to help solve it. The International Society for Animal Rights introduced the day to spread awareness about pet overpopulation and has done meaningful work since, including saving the lives of millions of animals.

On this day, shelters, rescue groups, animal welfare organizations, and animal lovers all over the world come together to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation epidemic.
Many countries around the globe face extreme homelessness among domesticated animals.
Most of these homeless animals are dogs and cats.
