Stray, abandoned, neglected, or surrendered make up most of the population of dogs and cats in our shelter.
Any animals thus found are kept at the KSPCA for a period of one month. This period is a sort of quarantine period to;
When you come to the KSPCA looking for a cat or a dog you are taken around the catteries or kennels to select what you may like. You are then advised to spend some time with the animal, especially if it is a dog you are interested in. You can walk around with the dog or play in a designated area and see if you are compatible. This is extremely important if the new home for the dog has small children.
Traveling within the country
All you need is an updated vaccination certificate for your pet. If the pet is traveling in a crate ensure it is comfortable and spacious enough to allow the animal to stand and stretch occasionally. Provide sufficient water for your pet during the trip which will also call for occasional potty breaks.
Traveling out of the country
Different countries will have different requirements for traveling with your pets. You will have to get these from their embassies or websites. Some of the general requirements include the following:

These charges are nominal and far below the costs involved to ensure that a healthy vaccinated and neutered pet finds an appropriate home.
