KSPCA Naivasha

Rescues and Investigations

We held a meeting with donkey owners and users at Naivasha town, that was sponsored by the Farming Systems in Kenya. We addressed the general welfare of donkeys, and explained in detail about the 5 animal freedoms.

We came across this wounded donkey that was being made to work at Kinangop. We cautioned the user against subjecting the donkey to those conditions, and advised him to seek veterinary care for the donkey, and put him to rest until he was okay enough to resume working. We shall follow up to ensure the donkey is in good condition.

In Nakuru town, we investigated a case of an injured donkey at Bahati. We handed over the case to the FSK veterinarian for treatment and follow up.

We received reports of stray dog that had accidentally fallen into a dam at Wildfire Flowers site. In spite of it being risky and tedious, our team managed to get the dog out of the dam, alive.

This foal was knocked by a vehicle at Naivasha town. Unfortunately, the impact of the accident was massive, and she succumbed to the injuries.

Re-homing and Follow-ups

This lovely dog was rescued at Nairobi, and was adopted by a resident of Naivasha. We visited him to check on his progress, and he was doing great!

This lovely lady gave a forever home to this gorgeous cat at Lakeview Estates.

We also followed up on this dog which we rehomed at Aloe Park Resort. She was doing pretty well.

In other news…

We are currently proving shelter to 59 dog, 19 cats and 5 donkeys. The vehicle underwent the major service at Kentalya garage. We also took it for NTSA inspection in Nyahururu.

We would like to thank Loki ventures for the donations of dog food for the dogs we are providing shelter for.

We have had repairs at the main kennels and the staff quarters; construction of a soak pit, bath tab, repainting of the kitchen, house and replacing the bathroom iron sheets.
